UNHOUSED

CIRCLE, Crisis and Incident Response through Community
CIRCLE stands for Crisis and Incident Response through Community-led Engagement. The idea is to relieve police of what they call “quality of life” calls like trespassing or loitering.

How to contact CIRCLE: Members of the public can access CIRCLE through the non-emergency line at (877) 275-5273 or (877) ASK-LAPD.

Choose the non-emergency dispatch option.

SELAH

TRAFFIC

Streets for All

At Streets For All, we believe our air doesn’t have to be polluted. We believe that people should be able to move around their city safely, regardless of their race, income, zip code, or ability.

SAFE (Streets Are For Everyone)

Vision Zero

LADOT’s number one priority is to eliminate traffic deaths on city streets. We use data to understand crash patterns throughout the city. We work with communities to identify short and long term safety solutions to stop serious crashes from happening in the first place. Since 2017, LADOT has installed three thousand safer crosswalks, traffic signals, and intersection improvements.

Safe Routes to School

In partnership with LAUSD, LADOT’s Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program creates safe and comfortable routes to school.

Each year, SRTS organizes the country’s largest Walk to School Day Program.

Speed Humps

Everyone deserves safe streets, but if cars are speeding on your residential street, you can apply for a speed hump to be installed. Before applying, please be aware that completing a speed hump request involves multiple steps of engagement and technical review.

Land Acknowledgement

The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council acknowledges all of the original stewards and inhabitants of the Los Angeles Basin, or Tovaangar, and their descendants. We pay tribute to the Gabrielino-Tongva (Toviscanga) people who lived and cared for Yaanga & Maawnga—the lands which include present day Silver Lake—as well as the Kizh, Chumash, & Fernandeno-Tataviam Band who also inhabited Tovaangar.
