How It Works
Committees are issue-specific sub-groups within the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council. These meetings are very approachable and conversation-oriented, so we welcome and encourage your participation in the conversation!
Each committee meets either monthly, quarterly, or ad hoc.

Managing email, social media, and organizing events, the Outreach Committee is dedicated to involving more members of the community in the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council and keeping residents, stakeholders and the media informed about community activities and news. Learn more.

The mission of the Green Committee is to engage and empower stakeholders in Silver Lake through the creation of community mechanisms for sustainability and green spaces.

The Silver Lake Transportation & Mobility Committee’s mission is to make it safe, sustainable, efficient, and pleasant to move around Silver Lake and Los Angeles.

Silver Lake's land use committee. The name UDP was devised in 2009 when the committee started as we do more than review land use issues: we do our best to holistically look out for the urban design and architectural preservation of our community. UDP coordinates, advises, develops alternative suggestions and provides a voice for the community with regards to urban planning, design, development, and preservation issues within Silver Lake.

To foster a secure and resilient community, our Reimagining Public Safety Committee is dedicated to collaboratively addressing and mitigating safety concerns and enhancing the overall well-being of our neighborhood. Through community engagement, strategic partnerships, and proactive initiatives, we strive to create an environment where every resident feels safe, valued, and empowered.

The Budget & Finance Committee reviews and makes recommendations to the Board on all financial proposals coming before the Board.

The Art & Culture Committee is dedicated to nurturing local talent, celebrating creative expression, and bringing the community together through inclusive, culturally diverse art and cultural events.

The mission of the Bylaws & Standing Rules Committee is to write and submit to the board bylaws (operating rules of the council) and standing rules (statements clarifying the bylaws) in collaboration with stakeholders and board members.

Advocates for People Experiencing Homelessness (AEPH) Committee
The APEH Committee strives to increase access to necessary resources and services to the unhoused and look for innovative ways to help those who need the most assistance.

The Silver Lake Reservoir Committee provides community oversight for the entire Silver Lake Reservoir Complex including the walking paths, dog park, The Committee is committed to providing and open, transparent accountable, ad inclusive forum for Silver Lake stakeholders to learn about and have a say in the future plans of the Silver Lake Reservoir Complex.
