I'm Eric Brightwell and I've lived as a renter in Silver Lake since 1999. Since 2007, I have explored neighborhoods and communities of Los Angeles for my series, "California Fool's Gold." I have been blessed to be car-free since 2011 and my vision for Silver Lake includes more affordable housing, bus-only lanes, more green infrastructure, more public spaces, protected bike lanes, and more sidewalks. My hope for the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council is that we can increase and improve engagement with Silver Lake's too-often-ignored immigrant, refugee, poor, and working-class residents.
