
Jason Lyon

Jason Lyon was born in Kentucky and reared in North Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in film and television from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has variously worked as a writer, editor, and producer in both documentaries and television commercials. He produced the feature documentary, Five Wives, Three Secretaries and Me, which was included in the Outstanding Contemporary Documentary series at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.
A passionate advocate for neighborhood empowerment, Jason is currently serving his second term on the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council. He was twice elected Co-Chair of the SLNC and currently serves as co-chair of the Governmental Affairs Committee. In recognition of his neighborhood council work, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa recently appointed Jason to the Neighborhood Council Review Commission. Jason was subsequently elected by his fellow commissioners to serve as Vice Chair of the Commission.
Jason is also active in other aspects of City government. He is City Council President Eric Garcetti's appointee to the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission Advisory Board, and he previously served on the East Los Angeles Area Planning Commission under the Hahn administration.
