Chair, Outreach Committee

Douglas Evan Dickstein was born in Holmdel, New Jersey on March 9, 1971.
Doug left New Jersey in 1990 to attend San Diego State University.  He was a member of the Golden Key National Honors Society, a Disc-Jockey at the college radio station KNX and a volunteer on the Jerry Brown for President Campaign.

After graduating San Diego State with a B.S. in Television and Film, Doug lived briefly in Montana and then moved to Denver, where he would reside for the next 4 years.
Doug moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and immediately settled around the Silver Lake area.  During his time in Los Angeles, he has worked for a variety of different Television and Radio companies, including KNX-AM, Fox Family Channel and Game Show Network.  Doug currently works at Sí TV, the first ever network aimed at 2nd and 3rd Generation Latino’s, as their Executive Director of Marketing.
In 2000, Doug ignited his political flames again by volunteering on the Bill Bradley for President Campaign.  In 2004, Doug took it a step forward and was nominated as a delegate for John Edwards for the Democratic National Convention.

Also in 2004, Doug earned his Master’s Degree from Cal-State University Northridge while still working full-time.
In 2005, Doug ran for and won a seat on the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council as a representative for Region 7.  He also took on the task of Chairing the SLNC Outreach Committee, where he helped oversee the formation of a new SLNC brochure, organized the SLNC’s presence at numerous events and began writing a regular column about the SLNC in the Los Feliz Ledger.  This past December, Doug was elected Co-Chair of the Neighborhood Council.

Doug lives in Silver Lake with his wife Leanna, their dog Chloe and their two cats— Gwendolyn & Sheldon
