Bea Gold is a member of the Los Angeles Print Society. She started painting in 1940, when she was 13 and enrolled in the High School of Music and Art, in New York City. She attended the Art Students League and studied under Will Barnet. In Barnet's graphics class she began to do woodcuts and this continues to be one of her favorite art interests. Although her professional career took a different direction, she has always considered herself an artist first and since her retirement has devoted much of her time to her art.
